For me, the trauma started with Alice in Wonderland. The crazy as f*** cheshire cat and the psychotic Queen of hearts made my skin crawl and my little mind race.

Perhaps our obsession with all things creepy stems from here???

No one can deny that these characters are the stuff of nightmares. And it doesn’t stop there – let’s not forget the sickly sweaty looking Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz or that flying white horse thing from The Never Ending Story.

Who in their right mind thought these messed up stories written by writers clearly high as kites were appropriate to thrust under our small faces before bedtime??

Ummmm what?:

This bitch needs to calm down. She’s in a children’s book ffs:

I’ve saved the creepiest for last though. Here’s a passage from the good old spine-tingling children’s fairy tale Rumplestiltskin:

“The devil has told you that! the devil has told you that!” cried the little man, and in his anger he plunged his right foot so deep into the earth that his whole leg went in; and then in rage he pulled at his left leg so hard with both hands that he tore himself in two.”

Goodnight. Sleep tight..
